Voxxhire vs Cluely
Cluely is probably the most talked-about AI tool in hiring, for reasons it chose itself: it launched with the tagline “Cheat on Everything”. It now presents itself as an AI meeting assistant, under the headline “#1 Undetectable AI for Meetings”. Voxxhire sits on the other side of that line. It is where you practise before the interview, so on the day there is nothing on your screen and nothing to explain. If you want help in sales calls and meetings, Cluely is built for that. If you want to pass an interview on your own answers, this page is for you.
About Cluely
Cluely is a desktop assistant that listens during calls and meetings, takes notes and suggests responses in real time. Its free Starter plan has limited AI responses; Pro is $19.99 a month for unlimited responses and notetaking; Pro + Undetectability is $149.99 a month and is sold as “completely hidden to meeting screen sharing software” (checked October 2026). The company grew out of Interview Coder, a tool for live coding interviews that led to a co-founder’s suspension from Columbia University in 2025, and it has raised $5.3 million in seed funding and a $15 million Series A led by Andreessen Horowitz. As a notetaker and live helper for sales or client calls, it does a job Voxxhire doesn’t attempt.
About Voxxhire
Voxxhire is interview practice and nothing else. An AI interviewer asks questions built from your CV and the job description, you answer out loud, and you get a transcript and feedback on the content, the STAR structure and the delivery. The free plan gives you 10 credits every month, about five 10-minute voice mock interviews, with no card. It never runs during your real interview, which is the point.

Who Voxxhire may suit
Pick Voxxhire if you want to walk into the interview able to answer on your own, including the in-person final round where no overlay can follow you. It suits graduates worried about how AI use looks to employers, candidates facing UK competency, NHS or Civil Service panels, and anyone preparing for an employer’s AI interview who wants to rehearse with an AI interviewer first.
Who Cluely may suit
Pick Cluely if what you need is a meeting assistant: notes, context and suggested replies in sales calls or client meetings where live help is welcome. It is cheaper than Voxxhire’s entry plan for that use, and Voxxhire doesn’t do it at all. Just don’t confuse being allowed to use it in a meeting with being allowed to use it in an interview.
Frequently asked questions
Is using Cluely cheating?
In an interview, it often is by the employer’s own rules. Amazon’s candidate guidelines, as reported by Business Insider, ask candidates not to use generative AI tools during interviews unless explicitly permitted and warn that breaking this may lead to disqualification. Cluely itself launched with the tagline “Cheat on Everything” before rebranding. In a sales call or internal meeting where live help is accepted, it is simply a tool.
Can employers detect Cluely?
Cluely markets itself as undetectable, and its $149.99-a-month “Pro + Undetectability” tier is sold as completely hidden from screen sharing software. But detection isn’t only about screen sharing: Fabric, a company that sells AI interviewing, says it flagged 38.5% of 19,368 interviews for AI-cheating behaviour between July 2025 and January 2026, and Google, Cisco and McKinsey have brought back in-person rounds. The safest version of you on the day is the one who practised.
How much does Cluely cost?
Cluely’s pricing page lists a free Starter plan with limited AI responses, Pro at $19.99 a month, and Pro + Undetectability at $149.99 a month (checked October 2026). Voxxhire’s free plan gives 10 credits every month, and paid plans run from $24 to $69 a month.
What is the difference between Cluely and Voxxhire?
When the help happens. Cluely helps during the call by listening and suggesting what to say. Voxxhire helps before the call by running a mock interview, then showing you what you actually said and where the answer went thin. One is a meeting assistant; the other is interview practice.
Is there an ethical alternative to Cluely for interviews?
Practice is the alternative that no employer rule can take away. Voxxhire lets you rehearse out loud with an AI interviewer, as many times as your credits allow, so the answer you give on the day is one you have already said and fixed.
